Bio of Erica Krauter
Dedicating a practice to yoga and discovering the pathways to inner healing for over a decade. Erica Krauter born from a small town of SW Ontario. Where the Mohawk aboriginal faith and teachings are highly regarded and preserved. She began her journey by travelling in Asia at the age of 16. Working as a model she found most of her spare time immersing herself within the community and teachings of Buddhism. Resigning in Japan for 3 years she created a deep understanding for the practice of Zen living through solitude, contentment, and detachment, which all lead to the beginners mind. At 19 Erica continued her travels through Asia exploring the different approaches to Zen Buddhism. Visiting Thailand, Seoul, Hong Kong and Taiwan, and where in Seoul she discovered movement with the meditative breath(Yoga). Which evolved in 3 year dedication to the practice.
After many years in Asia she resigned in Paris, France to continue her modelling career and enhance her yogic practice, she found herself landing with the house of Chanel, alongside Designer Karl Legerfeld.”Yoga is what keeps me aware of my spiritual realm, and the balance of day-to-day reality. This is my antidote to a successful and healthy modelling career.” Following her time in Europe she was voted top 10 Canadian models by Elle Canada of 2012. After completing a successful 3 years with the house of Chanel, she decided to return to Toronto, where she deepened her knowledge to become a yoga teacher. With the help of well renowned Diane Bruni of 80 Gladstone, formerly the co-founder of Downward Dog of Queen Street West. Diane was the first Ashtanga yoga teacher in Canada. Now Erica spreads the joy and knowledge of a safe and enlightened yoga practice to many around the GTA.
